Solar Energy
Sadhana Forest Kenya is located 9 km (5.6 mi) from the electrical grid. An important aspect for Sadhana Forest Kenya is energy independence and to supply our energy needs from sustainable sources such as solar energy. Our plan is to supply our energy needs with photovoltaics (solar panels) that we will install and maintain on-site. We have started researching different solar panel providers in Kenya and plan to install the system during the first stages of construction.
Heating Water
Sadhana Forest Kenya is located in Samburu Central (Samburu County) in northern Kenya. This area has cold seasons, so supplying hot water is a need that will need to be addressed. We are researching sustainable water heating options such as solar heating and compost pile heating.
