Human Planet: Jungles – People of the Trees

Our Eco Film on Friday, August 16th will be Human Planet: Jungles – People of the Trees.

Documentary, 2011 – 59 minutes. Produced by BBC, Discovery, France TV. English w/ English subtitles.

The rainforest is home to more species of plants and animals than any other habitat on the planet. But for humans, life there is not as easy as it looks. Life in the trees requires great skill, ingenuity and sheer bravery. The Matis of Brazil carve 4-meter-long blow-pipes to hunt monkeys – in near total silence. In West Papua the Korowai tribe show off their engineering skills by building a high-rise home 35 meters up in the tree tops.

Human Planet is an 8-part television documentary series that describes the human species and its relationship with the natural world by showing the remarkable ways in which humans have adapted to life in different environments on Earth.
