Sadhana Forest Haiti is not connected to the electricity grid. As part of our sustainable living, we chose to use only solar, human, and/or other alternative energy systems with low environmental impact.

Our Solar System

We currently have a small four panel solar array that tends for our basic needs of charging lights and other electronics. In the near future, we are working on improving and expanding our system that will be able to power our water pump and other necessary equipment.

Solar Powered Cookers & Stoves

We have been donated a prototype “Go Sun” solar cooker which serves very efficiently to dry roast nuts and seeds. To read more on the “GO Sun” solar cookers, click http://www.gosunstove.com/

We are also facilitating a solar cooker project with a solar cooker from “Global Sun” We will be distributing 50 solar cookers as part of a research, training, and solar cooker distribution project with “Kyoto Twist” to help those in need and help reduce their dependence on cooking with charcoal and wood. Wind Power

In the near future we hope to experiment with wind energy as our proximity to the coastlines ensures fairly regular winds at certain times of the year.
