Experience our planet’s natural beauty and examine how climate change impacts all living creatures. Learn more about our wonderful planet in this ambitious documentary of spectacular scope. In this episode, cameras follow desert elephants seeking sustenance. Also featured are bison roaming North American grasslands and caterpillars living the good life underground.
Our planet’s grasslands are the rich home to our big land animals, but they’re also shrinking. We protect only 8% of existing grasslands in the world nowadays. They once covered a quarter of the planet, but as the human population has exploded, they have been shrinking. We turn them to farmland, and replace massive wild herds with domestic ones.
Grasslands are home to the planet’s largest mammals, but are particularly at risk due human population pressure and development for agriculture. We need to pay attention to these beautiful parts of our fantastic planet and protect the life that we can.
