Last week was our final chance to plant Tropical Dry Evergreen Forest trees (TDEF) in Sadhana Forest during this planting season. The forest work continued with a greater sense of urgency as the rainy season came to an end.
Led by Reza, our long term volunteer and forest work coordinator, our volunteers worked long and hard throughout the week, weekend, and afternoon to plant all of our seedlings.
On Saturday we continued our chanting and planting workshop with our good friend Rajan and children and teachers from Aikiyam school. The Rozin family joined over 50 guests and volunteers in the forest to work. Aviram also led some informative discussions on plant species and water conservation for the local children. It was an amazingly productive week fueled by all of the hard work of the planting season.
By breakfast time on Saturday our week of 800 plantings by volunteers had truly brought the community together! Thank you to everyone who helped to bring all these new trees to the forest!!
