Sadhana Forest

Sadhana Forest is an organization dedicated to rehabilitating ecosystems, reforestation, food security, water conservation and sustainable living. It started in December 2003, in Tamil Nadu, and has since grown to four countries. In all locations, Sadhana Forest facilitates long-term change to benefit local ecosystems and people.

In Meghalaya, Sadhana Forest is operating 3 Immersion Centers where it provides training in simple, practical, efficient, and cost-effective techniques that are appropriate to the specific needs of the local environment and people.

Let’s Reforest Our Land

Let’s come together to bring the forest back to our hills! Sadhana Forest offers hands-on training in land restoration, reforestation and water conservation at its Meghalaya Immersion Centers. These trainings are offered free of charge. Join can join us for a drop-in workshop every Sunday from 10:00am to 4:00pm. You can also sign up for weekdays training via this link.

Location

Locations of the Immersion Centers:

  • Daribokgre Village, Samanda Block, East Garo Hills District. The center is located on the way to Nokrek National Park.
  • Wahmawpat Village, Mawsynram Block, East Khasi Hills District.
  • Moolamylliang Village, Saipung Block, East Jaintia Hills District. The center is located near the Laityrke Service Station.
