On Friday, March 1st, we will screen A FILM BY MARC VELLA followed by a Q & A with Marc Vella
Marc Vella started playing music when he was 5. At the age of 24, he put his piano on a trailer to go and discover the world. Being considered an eccentric did not put him off at all. In 25 years, having been invited by numerous Cultural Centres and Alliances Francais, he has travelled over 200,000 km of roads, in around forty countries, with his instrument in order to celebrate Humanity. Recipient of the Prize for Composition at the Ecole Normale de Musique, Paris (ENM) in 1985, at the age of 38 he was awarded 1st Prize in Composition at the International Tournament of Music (TIM) in Rome. He has recorded 8 albums to date. A highly skilled speaker, he has conceived “concerts d’émergence” and regularly gives Master Classes and courses intended for professionals and laymen alike.
Creator of the “Caravane amoureuse”, about twenty countries have already been “lovingly conquered” since 2004. Captain Cousteau set out on expeditions aboard ‘Calypso’ to explore the oceans and show us their beauty. The “Caravane amoureuse” sets sail on buses to explore the depths of individual human experience and to honour, in a film documentary, the women and men who are committed to our world moving towards more peace, solidarity and environmental awareness.
Please join us for this special event where Marc Vella will first show one of his short films. This will be followed by a question and answer session with the artist.
