Our next Eco Film on Friday October 12th will be another episode of the BBC series Planet Earth: Mountains.
Documentary, 2006 – 50 minutes. Narrated by David Attenborough. BBC. UK, English.
(sorry couldn’t find any video snippets of it without some ads ontop…)
Planet Earth, described by its makers as a definitive look at the diversity of our planet, is one of the first nature documentary series to be filmed in high definition. Shot by 71 camera crews in 62 countries over 5 years, Planet Earth redefined natural history filmmaking and amazed viewers with never-before-seen animal behaviors and startling views of locations captured by cameras for the first time. The episode “Mountains”, takes us to the mightiest mountain ranges, starting with the birth of a mountain at one of the lowest places on Earth and ending at the summit of Everest. Some of the rare wildlife footage shown include the astounding images of a snow leopard hunting on the Himalayan peaks. It also features some of the strangest habitats on the face of earth.
