As a Sadhana Forest Fellow, you become part of a vibrant international team of young change makers for one year. You will stay at our off-grid, sustainable campuses and help run our operations.

Sadhana Forest Fellowship in Sustainability and Ecosystem Restoration: A one year Fellowship where you will get a hands-on experience of ecosystem regeneration, sustainable living and environmental education. Sadhana Forest Fellowship in Environmental Communication: A one year Fellowship where you will learn effective and compassionate ways of communicating to support the vegan and environmental movement. You will be part of the Sadhana Forest ‘Global Team’ and be involved with media, web, social media, admin, etc. Applications are open year round. Plant 4 India Fellowship: A one year Fellowship where you will train climate vulnerable and malnourished rural communities in India in indigenous reforestation and water conservation. You will be part of one Sadhana Forest’s centers in rural India and help build climate resilience and create long-term water & food security for disadvantaged communities. Environmental Leaders Fellowship: A two year international Fellowship where you will train rural communities in different Sadhana Forest centers across India and the world. This is a Fellowship aimed at those who want to take op leadership role. You will learn how to do effective hands-on on-the-ground environmental work in different climates, terrains and social context. More information: www.sadhanaforest.org/elf.
Applications for the ELF program are accepted year round.
Our Fellowships are open to all Indian citizens and residents who are minimum 18 years old. The ELF program is open to citizens of other countries as well. No prior knowledge or experience is required. If you are not an Indian resident, or you would like to come and live at Sadhana Forest with your under-age children, you can contact us at longtermvolunteer.sf@gmail.com for other long-term opportunities.
These Fellowships are a one year exclusive opportunity. Fellows are required to fulfill a one year term. They cannot take up any other work, volunteer or study commitments during this year. Fellows are required to follow a 100% vegan (plant-based) lifestyle and to fully abstain from consuming any tobacco, alcohol or any other drugs for the entire Fellowship period.
Fellows will receive food and accommodation in return for their service, and a small monthly stipend to cover daily expenses. Upon successful completion, they receive a certificate and personalized recommendation letter and the opportunity to continue to serve in one of the Sadhana Forest centers.
