In this new film, leading ecologist Helena Norberg-Hodge, examines eight inconvenient truths about globalization. Several of these truths examined claim that globalization causes depression, insecurity and wastes natural resources. She emphasizes that globalization is an economic process, not a social process to bring people all over the world together, as the term itself suggests. She proposes several different ways to “think local,” such as finding local energy sources and buying locally grown foods, in order to combat the negative impact of globalization.
