Veganism

Sadhana Forest is an ethical vegan community. Veganism is an expression of love and compassion toward animals, a commitment to live without exploiting them for food, clothing, or any other purpose. It recognizes the inherent value of all beings and affirms their right to live free from harm.

On our campus, no animal products are brought, stored, or consumed. This includes meat, fish, dairy, eggs, and honey. We practice veganic agroforestry and permaculture, enriching the soil with plant-based composting, mulching, and water conservation structures, without animal labor or animal-derived fertilizers.

Veganism is inseparable from our work in reforestation. Animal agriculture is the leading driver of deforestation, responsible for more than 80% of tropical forest loss and the largest user of agricultural land. To plant trees with our hands while deforesting with our mouths would be a contradiction. By living vegan, we ensure that the forests we grow are supported, not undermined, by our daily choices.

Veganism at Sadhana Forest is compassion in action, practiced each day as a way of living in harmony with animals, people, and the Earth.
