Substance-Free Living

Sadhana Forest is a substance-free community. We believe that living without drugs, cannabis, alcohol, tobacco, and stimulants such as coffee or black tea creates the clarity and presence needed for ecological work, community life, and raising our consciousness.

Living substance-free protects health and strengthens relationships. It creates a safe environment for everyone, including the many children and young adults who live in or visit our community. By choosing not to use these substances, we build trust, foster awareness, and support a culture where people can connect openly with one another and with nature.

All residential participants sign a commitment to living substance-free for the duration of their stay, both inside and outside the campus. This shared choice ensures that daily life at Sadhana Forest is consistent, safe, and supportive for all. Many participants have also used their time here as an opportunity to step away from addictive habits, with the community offering encouragement and support in this process.

Living substance-free allows us to focus our energy on restoration, compassion, and conscious living. It is a practical foundation for the trust and resilience needed to grow both forests and community.
