Sadhana Forest has established a small vegan (stock free) organic permaculture garden. The soil is very poor and most of the effort goes into soil building. The methods used are raised beds, swales, banana circles etc.
We grow vegetables such as: snake gourds, bitter gourds, bottle gourds, pumpkins, long beans, wing beans, green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, rukula, spring onions, okra, egg plants, tapioca, sweet potatoes etc.
We also grow fruit trees such as: mango, papaya, banana, guava, amla (Indian gooseberry), pomegranate, jack fruit, rose apple, coconut, lemon, grapefruit, custard apple, star fruit, sapota, jamun, etc. Other fruits include watermelon & pineapple.
In the herb spirals we grow local herbs and intend to grow more medicinal herbs in the near future. The garden is evolving and we welcome people who want to put more energy into it!
