Vanakkam!

Uau! Childrens land is growing. Little by litlle, and the kids are coming often, especially in the weekends when they are free from school. They already understood that they are the ones who decide and choose what to do.

So this last week, they arrived with some plans and drawings of new ideas and projects, like having many flowers, fruits, trees, walking paths, natural houses, playgrounds, eco toilet, dust bins and more. So,we just asked what do we need for a walking path?-Stones! (they said).

So we went and in two hours they got stones from the mud pool area and from the forest, and they did a beautifull path that conects the garden with the play area.

In the garden, they did many beds, with flowers mixed with vegetables. It was beautifull to see them working togheter in groups, sharing tasks, having initiative, motivation and joy when they planted the beans, ladies fingers, cucumbers, and sun flowers.

One of the kids, was saying , I want to go to mud pool! And we just replied: Hei, this is not school, you choose what to do, if you want to go , feel free to do it, and, he run to swim , screaming of happiness, feeling such a freedom. The most beautifull, was to see him coming back after 10 minutes, ready to work, fresh with renewed power to carry the soil, with a smile on his lips, feeling that he is free to do and to be. Another kid brought one medicinal plant and had the idea that each kid can bring plants from their villages and take care of it, and see them growing.

We had an beautifull play shop given by Tara about how to make perfume with petals, lemon grass and water, so nice to see them having all these ideas, growing in the midlle of the nature, conected with the earth under their feet.

We had, many non competitive games, where everybody wins, all laugh, and hug each other, developing the senses. One of the games was Little Buddha. In this game one child stays sitting in lotus position meanwhile the others are trying to make litlle Buddha Laugh. Ah!Ah!Ah! If Litlle budha can stay one minute serious, than she or he has to explain to the others how they did it, what is the secret of her/his concentration, so they all learn more ways to concentrate.

Ah!Ah!Ah! All are laughing in Childrens Land!

Hi Tara I think I can see a little smile on your face. Love to you and mom(Sarah)
